Emerging from the Cordilleras, Baguio-based artist James Gabito reimagines a bygone era in his paintings, where calesas and carabaos roam, scenes from daily life encompassed with warmth and nostalgia.
Gabito's compositions dwell within Old Manila, and his love for his heritage is reflected in his cubist manner of painting; even his choice of colors stems from the Philippine flag, "It is a joy to look back," as he puts it.
